October 2015
The African Violet Council of Florida (AVCF) presents its annual fall show and sale, "Violets by Moonlight".   The location is the Holiday Inn East, I-295 and Baymeadows Road at 11083 Nursery Fields Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32256. The hours are Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 12 pm to 6 pm. The hours for Sunday, October 25, 2015 are from 10 am to 3 pm. October 2014
The African Violet Council of Florida (AVCF) presents its annual fall show and sale, "Violets at the Opera!". The sales room opens to the public Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 am to 6:00 p.m. and the show room opens from 12 noon to 6:00 pm in the Grand Ballroom. On Sunday, October 26th the show and sale are from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The location is the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, 230 West State Road 436 Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. October 2013
Dani Wyatt and Carolee Carter grew beautiful African violets that placed on the table
of honor at the AVCF "La Florida 500" held in September in Clearwater, FL.
Carolee's expertly grown African violet species took top honors in its class! Below
Dani is shown with her prize winning, Jolly Maiden African violet! Congratulations
to both of you !!!

     Pictures of the African Violet Council of Florida (AVCF) convention with the
     theme "Violets and Old Saws"!!  Old Saws refers to "old sayings".


     The first photo is a picture of the beautiful focal point from the African Violet
     Council of Florida (AVCF) October show.  The next two photos illustrate just a
     few of the many beautiful African violets and other gesneriads entered in the
     show.  The fourth photo includes two of our very own AVCO members!  Carolee
     Carter honored our very own Dani Wyatt with her AVCF awards including: 
     Best in Show Semi-Miniature and Best in Class Semi-Minature. 
     CONGRATULATIONS DANI !

October 2008

The African Violet Club of Ocala (AVCO) hosted the African Violet Council of Florida’s (AVCF) annual show and sale on October 4-5 2008 at the Ocala Hilton where growers from around the state competed for prizes.  The judged show’s theme was “Over the Rainbow,” and hundreds of African violets and other gesneriads were on display.  Dozens of designs depicting various “Wizard of Oz” themes were also on display.   A sales room full of sales plants opened the wallets of many customers anxious to buy the unusual varieties offered for sale.

President of AVCO, Carolee Carter, enthusiastically spoke at the AVCF African Violet Show Awards Banquet on October 4, 2008.



AVCO's very own Dorothy, played by Carol Williams, won Best Novice in the horticulture Division with her Optimara Maine II African Violet.
